Howard was saved after a college ski trip in central California. It was on that ski trip that he met Debi. Howard got saved two weeks after the ski trip. He proposed to Debi 4 months later and they married months after that, and months later Howard went to Biola College (now University). Together they embarked on a life in the ministry. In 1977, they went to France as career church planting missionaries and stayed 12 years planting two churches in the Lyon area of France. Returning to the US in 1989, Howard and Debi took a church in Hailey, ID and slowly grew that church over the next 6 years.
After Hailey, ID, they went to the thumb of Michigan and pastored (survived) a tumultuous church. They stabilized it and after two years went to Fresno, CA and planted another church that was strongly involved in supporting Russian pastors. After a serious car accident, we went to Aberdeen, Scotland, UK and undertook a PhD program in church history/historical theology. After receiving his post-graduate degree, Howard went back into missions, training pastors in different parts of the world…Europe, Africa, and Asia. After 10 years of training pastors in multiple countries, in 2017, Howard and Debi took their first of many trips to Mongolia to work with Sheika and Haka, focusing on training pastors. Today (September, 2024) they are embarking on a twice a year for three years program to train pastors in western Mongolia.
